What to Expect
Book an Appointment
Create a secure patient account when you book. We’ll email a link to your portal.
Complete the health history, consent & policy forms, notification preferences, and (if applicable) insurance details in the portal.
Tip: If you plan to use insurance, please fill out our forms 3 business days before your appointment so we can verify benefits in time.
Need help? Call or email us and we’ll gladly assist with scheduling or forms.
Before Your Visit
Bring any relevant images or lab reports (paper or electronic).
Wear loose, comfortable separates so the practitioner can access the area(s) to be treated.
Have a light meal beforehand. Not too hungry, not too full.
Most clinical questions (medications, medical history, pregnancy, blood thinners, implants) are asked in the intake forms, so please complete them thoroughly; bring ID/insurance card if you prefer.
During Your Visit
First visits are typically 60–90 minutes. We’ll review your forms and listen to your story.
Exam methods may include both TCM and Western assessments (examples: tongue/pulse observation, targeted palpation, range-of-motion or orthopedic checks).
We’ll explain our findings in plain language, invite your questions, and co-create a treatment plan that fits your goals and schedule.
You’ll usually receive an introductory treatment that same day (so you can experience the care before committing to a full plan).
After Treatment
Most people feel relaxed or refreshed; mild tiredness, light soreness, or emotional release can occur.
Avoid heavy exercise, saunas, or hot tubs for about 3 hours after treatment; drink water and rest as needed.
If you had cupping or gua sha, expect temporary skin marks or light bruising that fade in a few days.
If you notice anything concerning (severe pain, fever, signs of infection), contact us right away or seek emergency care.
Re-evaluation & Ongoing Care
We’ll assess progress at scheduled re-evaluations and adjust the plan as needed. Typical initial courses vary (often several sessions to a block of 6–12) depending on the condition and response.
If you respond well, visits are spaced out gradually; many patients move to monthly or quarterly maintenance.
If progress is limited, we’ll discuss alternative approaches or referrals (physical therapy, imaging, MD consult) so you get the right care.
We provide superbills and help coordinate with your other providers when requested.
