Acupuncture
What it is: Fine, sterile needles inserted into specific points on the body to support natural healing and restore balance.
How it works: Needle stimulation prompts release of endorphins and other neuromodulators, modulates nerve pathways and local inflammation, and improves microcirculation.
Good for: May help manage musculoskeletal pain, headaches, digestive complaints, stress/anxiety, sleep problems, and many functional conditions.
Herbal Medicine
What it is: Individualized formulas of herbs (and occasionally minerals) chosen to match a patient’s pattern.
How it works: Multi-component formulas provide synergistic phytochemicals (flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, etc.) that can modulate inflammation, immune response, circulation, hormones, and metabolic signaling.
Good for: Often used for digestive issues (nausea, IBS), sleep/stress, menstrual and reproductive support, fatigue/recovery, and symptom support alongside other care.
Moxibustion
What it is: Application of heat from burning mugwort (moxa) near or on acupuncture points (indirect, direct, or on-needle methods).
How it works: Thermal stimulation (and moxa’s combustion products) increases circulation, activates repair and anti-inflammatory pathways, and can influence autonomic and endocrine responses.
Good for: Used for cold-sensitive pain patterns, some arthritic and musculoskeletal complaints, certain GI/constipation issues, insomnia/supporting vitality, and select obstetric applications when performed by trained clinicians.
Cupping
What it is: Placement of suction cups on the skin (static or sliding) to lift tissues and increase local flow.
How it works: Suction enhances microcirculation, releases myofascial restrictions, and modulates pain signaling and local immune activity to support tissue recovery.
Good for: Commonly used for muscle tension, neck/back pain, myofascial pain, some headache types, and to promote relaxation and improved local circulation.
Gua Sha
What it is: Repeated, lubricated scraping of the skin with a smooth tool to mobilize superficial tissue and relieve tightness.
How it works: Scraping increases local blood flow and lymphatic drainage, triggers short-term protective/anti-inflammatory pathways, and alters peripheral and central pain processing.
Good for: Often chosen for focal myofascial tightness, neck/back pain, reduced range of motion, and short-term relief of localized musculoskeletal symptoms.
Auricular Medicine
What it is: A complete ear-based diagnostic and therapeutic system using visual inspection, palpation/electrical detection, and ear seeds (no auricular needles) to treat and monitor conditions.
How it works: Reactive ear points are identified visually/tenderly/electrically and stimulated with ear seeds to deliver continuous gentle input that modulates autonomic, neuroendocrine, and pain pathways.
Good for: Frequently used for pain, headaches and dizziness, sleep and anxiety, addiction/craving support, tinnitus, digestive/fatigue patterns, and focused adjunctive care between full treatments.
Facial Rejuvenation
Acupuncture: Stimulates collagen induction, firms/tones face, reduces fine lines over weeks–months.
Herbs: Increase skin collagen, decrease inflammation, improve texture and pores.
Gua sha: Boosts microcirculation, activates fibroblasts, improves texture and reduces expression lines/puffiness.
Facial cupping: Temporarily increases capillary density and hemoglobin, improves local perfusion and plumping/brightness.
Moxibustion: Warming, improves local circulation.
